HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

The House Coach is works on a basis of collaboration, confidentiality and client-led priorities.

In other words, we work together. I’m a ‘professional ally’ who helps clients complete specific task(s) and the work is done at the pace of each client. This will vary according to each individual.

The process would usually go like this:

You start things off by emailing your phone number to me, thehousecoachuk@gmail.com and we arrange an informal chat. If you’re local, this might be face to face. This initial consultation is for me to get an idea of what you want to achieve, your frustrations and hopes. There’s no charge for this first stage.

Then you might want to ponder for a while and decide whether or not to take the next steps.

When you’re ready to dive in, we agree a date or dates, fee and invoicing structure. Some clients like me to come for a day or half-day a week / month, others prefer a trial run or one-off session. If you’re looking for lunchtime sessions, we’ll discuss how to organise this.

When I arrive for our first (or only) session we’ll start with a chat in your space. I’ll listen to you, clarify my understanding and we’ll agree what we’re doing that day.

Together we’ll decide some ground round rules to help us work more effectively and make the most of the time. For example:

• the work we do together is private and at your pace.

• we work together i.e. I don’t go off into some other room and start tidying there.

• we review and when relevant, revise how we’re working together.

• I won’t keep any of your belongings.

I may ask a few questions to see what I can do to make our time together more effective or fun. We’ll agree what breaks we’re going to take and when.

We’ll stop 15-30 minutes before I’m due to leave and discuss what’s worked well and what would make it better.

You have the option to agree a date and time for a phone check-in a week or so after our work together.
